2021 Audi A4 Redesign, Allroad, Release Date, and Interior. Looking back at the evolution of A4 sedan, you might think that the latest model hit the markets a few weeks ago. The things aren’t like that, and you should gear up for the next version, dubbed the 2021 Audi A4. The German automaker already started conducting tests, and we have spy photos of the latest installment of A4.
Audi’s never-aging design makes it hard to determine when their models came out. Because of this, you will be surprised when we tell you something about A4. This small sedan, as we know it today was on the markets since 2016, and in some parts of the world even from 2015.
Under The Hood
While most car enthusiasts are looking forward the most to what lies under the hood, we must disappoint you. At the moment it remains unclear just what will power the 2021 Audi A4. The most recent addition to its engine department was a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, so this unit will stay one of the options. It offers 190 horsepower, and 236 pound-feet of torque with the base version. Upper ones receive 252hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The 2021 update will most likely offer an e-Tron plug-in hybrid model.
2021 Audi A4 Exterior
The testimony to the fact that Audi’s design evolves slowly and steadily is the small amount of camouflage on the test mules of 2021 A4 To determine what exactly are the updates for the next iteration of this vehicle you need to look into it carefully. There are visual tweaks without a doubt, but as its usually the case with the Ingolstadt-based company, they are not going full remake.
On the photos of 2021 Audi A4 that we have here today, you will notice the more rectangular shape of intakes. Entire front fascia is getting an upgrade, but this part is the most noticeable. The model in question is using S-line package. At the moment we can’t say much about the grille and the headlights. The later ones will have tweaks to them, but it’s is early to talk about them. Grille will feature Audi’s trademark logo, but what will be around it remains to be seen.
At the back, updates continue as the German automaker looks to change this model both upfront and at the rear. The diffuser you see on the prototype is much different than the one used on the current model. The taillights will have a new look but on the parts that are inside rather than on the outside. Down below the round-shaped exhaust pipes will be replaced by rectangular ones.
With new model the changes on the inside are imminent, but we can’t tell to which extent at the moment. The move that everyone expects is the redesigning of the dashboard. The goal is for its central stack and display to mimic what we have in the latest versions of A8, A7, and A6 models. 2021 Audi A4 will probably see improvements in driving aids department. Some of the features used on higher-end models should find their way to A4 in the coming years.
2021 Audi A4 Release date
2021 Audi A4 will not be released before the mid-to-late-2019. This is expected as the testings have just begun. The German automaker plans to launch the latest installment of A4 as 2021 MY; so they are in no rush with this model. The most likely location for the grand introduction of new A4 is Frankfurt and 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show which will be held from 12th to 22nd September.
The price is also unknown at this moment. The minor visual tweaks, followed by interior updates and new technology features will merit an increase in price compared to what we have today. At the moment the front-wheel-drive Ultra Prestige starts at $37,000. In its class, this model offers the best return for your money among competitors. The next in line is an A4 priced at $41,500 which offers Audi Quattro system and a 2.0-liter. Upper trims include Premium at $44,700 and $51,000 for Prestige.
Audi’s newest small sedan will try to find its footing in the segment that includes competitors such as Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, Cadillac ATS and Lexus IS. In recent years Audi trailed BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus in sales in this segment, and with 2021 Audi A4 they will look to get at the top of sales charts.
