2021 Audi A8 Redesign, Release Date, Price, and Interior. 2021 Audi A8 is everything you could possibly desire from a car. It is all Audi ever wanted from one of its vehicles. This flagship sedan is precisely what Ingolstadt-based company needs to get an advantage over rivals such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Cadillac. Compared to the previous model the new A8 is taller, with more length, and with higher ground clearance, but still more stable on the road. Its maker dubs it as the “most technologically advanced car in the world.”
The new 2021 A8 comes with two sets of wheelbases. The first one is 123.1 inches long, while the second one stands at 118.0-inch. The US buyers will be treated to only the first one. In addition to wheelbase, the car itself is 1.3 inches longer, 0.7 inches higher, but 0.1 inches less wide compared to the previous version. With these changes, 2021 Audi A8 offers more comfort inside, and this was their primary goal in order to be a real competitor to the likes of Mercedes-Benz S-class and BMW’s 7-Series.
You probably know by now, A8’s design was inspired by Audi Prologue Concept, but its designers didn’t make any drastic steps. Like we expected, the car differs from the previous installment but remains true to companies trademark design. As we are accustomed by A8, it retains its straight profile. The changes include new technology used on both headlights and taillights. The rear lights are now connected by a LED strip. With this model, the German automaker made sure that the accent is on the inside of the cabin and new technologies.
At the beginning of its sales, new A8 will be available with a single powertrain. The unit in question is a 3.0-liter V-6 capable of 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Of course, Germans won’t stop there, and the future a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with 460 horses will become available. Thanks to a hybrid system both of these units will have 48-volt electric assistance. The bad news is that a W-12-powered A8 won’t hit the US market. This powerplant was available with the previous model, but it will not be in the future. The two engines we mentioned above will be mated to a ZF’s paddle-shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission. Audi all-wheel-drive Quattro system will be offered as standard.
New A8 brings a lot of novelties to the table, and because of this, the price will go up. Luckily, according to people close to the German company, the increase will be small, and the buyers of this vehicle will have no issues accepting it. 2018 MY of this luxury sedan equipped with a V-6 powertrain starts at $83,475. If we go by what Audi officials stated, then the 2021 Audi A8 is going to start little under $90,000. We must agree with them; this cost is easy to accept. With all comfort, tech features, safety measures and Audi’s impeccable design of this car is everything a man can wish for.
2021 Audi A8 Interior
On the inside, the cabin of 2021 Audi A8 is spacey, luxurious and above all comfortable. It even comes with traits such as foot warmers and massagers. The sound isolation is on such level that you even can’t hear the engine roaring on max revs. The goal of packing in as much of technology was accomplished. It was done through Audi’s interface and a new design of the cockpit that will make you feel as you are riding in a plane rather than in a car. The display that comes with this model is a 10.1-inch touchscreen which sits at the center of the dashboard.
The technology that can be put to motion through the center stack includes traffic jam pilot, radar sensors, a front camera, ultrasonic sensors, and a laser scanner. The entire infotainment system is based on Audi’s MMI technology. The car basically can, not only to park itself but to drive on its own on highways.
