2021 Toyota Corolla Redesign, Price, Specs, and Interior. The Toyota Corolla is on the market for more than 50 years. The 2021 Toyota Corolla will belong to the twelfth generation of Toyota’s subcompact and compact cars. It visually relies on the new Toyota Auris. Just like the Auris, the new Toyota Corolla will also use the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. This platform primarily guarantees the efficient implementation of modern ecological drives. A feta in which this Japanese manufacturer excels.
Given the rich experience of the Japanese manufacturer, it is clear that the backbone of the engine range will be hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Good reactions of the professionals and the audience to Auris are an additional incentive for the final development of the Corolla. In addition to numerous visual similarities, countless technical solutions will be inter-shared.
The standard 1.8-liter engine wouldn’t be the only choice. The Corolla will have plenty to offer. A hybridized 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines are some of the options. The hybrid variant of 1.8-liter engine is transferred from the latest Toyota Auris generating 122 horsepower (91 kilowatts). The stronger hybrid variant of the newly-developed 2.0-liter engine brings the 180 horsepower (134 kilowatts).
The Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform should bring improvements on all fronts. One of the most popular units will undoubtedly be a new 2.0-liter port- and fuel-injected four-cylinder powertrain. This mill will have either a continuously variable transmission or six-speed manual. Both are fine choices.
We must mention that the Prius, Camry, C-HR, and other models use the same platform. We expect progress in fuel economy without gaining weight.
2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback
Let’s have a look back to last year’s model. It meets both– style and fun-to-drive factor. Second, the exterior is very sharp, the body lines are a lot aggressive, and the mega-grille occupies space on the front. The interior has a mix of glossy and matte surfaces. It owns an 8.0-inch touchscreen which comes standard with Apple CarPlay compatibility with Siri Eyes Free.
2021 Corolla comes with an all-new 2.0-liter Dynamic Force Engine and an intelligent rev-matching manual transmission. The innovative Dynamic Shift-CVT and a six-speed manual are available as an option. With all this in mind, we are sure that new 2021 Toyota Corolla model year will be more powered and efficient than this version.
2021 Toyota Corolla Redesign
There are a lot of the spy photos but only with the black cladding and camouflage over much of the body. With those, we can see the Corolla’s basic silhouette, including the diagonal shape outlining the front fascia. It appears to be a more traditional three-box shape for the latest Corolla Like we said it visually relies on the new Toyota Auris. The general design seems to take some elements from the new generation of Camry.
Unlike the previous installment, the new sedan will share more with its hatch counterpart. We can tell this from looking at headlights. The lights look borrowed directly from the hatchback. The area round Toyota badge on the grille also seems replicated. A-pillars space together with mirrors is another feat that two models share or will share in the future. All of this is not a surprise considering that both models are built on TNGA platform. Front fascia, although similar, will not have the same aggressive look as the hatch. The bumper also misses that menacing look, and it seems higher than on the hatchback version.
A similar story follows the cabin of this vehicle. We can already tell that it will be a mixture of what Auris and Camry provide. The interior can not be seen since all the windows blacked-out to hide the cabin. We will not comment on it just. What we can promise are improvements of the infotainment system and more advanced drive safety assists.
As all Toyota vehicles, the Corolla must have a Standard Toyota Safety Senses. This system includes automatic cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beams, and pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection. All of these features come as standard equipment. As an option there are blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automated emergency braking and a panoramic-view monitor.
2021 Toyota Corolla Release date and Price
Approximately one month ago Toyota announced the price for 2021 Corolla Hatchback. This model will start at $21,910 for base SE version. The automatic one will set you back for another $1,100. Upper trim XSE stands at $23,910 for manual and $25,010 for the CVT. The sedan will undoubtedly be more expensive, but we will have to wait for the release.
The release is not yet announced, but there are a lot of rumors saying the 2021 Toyota Corolla will be shown at the Geneva Auto Show next year. Fuel efficiency and a relaxing drive, with offering greater power and more dynamic driving characteristics are just some of the features of the new 2021 Corolla. It is up to you to decide is it an excellent choice for you.
Toyota will launch its new Corolla from two different factories. The first one is located in Mississippi, while the other one is in Alabama. The latter one is shared with another Japanese manufacturer– Mazda. Looking at the hatchback, we can see that new 2021 Corolla won’t bring radical changes to the table. It should provide enough to satisfy its loyal fan base. In a segment that also has models such as Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Dodge Dart, Nissan Sentra, Chevy Cruze, and Mazda 3 there isn’t a margin for error.
Corolla sedan is one of the best selling Toyota models. Only in 2019 more than 370, 000 Corollas was sold all over the world. With a new model, Aichi based company will try to continue this trend.
