2024 Honda Prologue Price and When Will It be Produced

Honda will going to launch an electric vehicle, the Prologue, thanks to these partnership with General Motors for 2024. Honda has not yet released details about the car, but we believe the Prologue will be a compact SUV or mid-sized SUV.

The same Ultium batteries will power it as the future GM EVs such as the Cadillac Lyriq or GMC Hummer EV. The Prologue will have a 100-kWh battery, the same as the Lyriq. These will give it a range of approximately 300 miles. Although GM designs the platform and powertrains, Honda will design the Prologue’s interior and body. However, we don’t know much about the Acura luxury brand offering a Prologue.

2024 Honda Prologue Price

According to Kelley Blue Book, the Honda Prologue’s base model is expected to retail for $45,000. Car and Driver report that the Prologue will feature the same 100-kWh battery as the Cadillac Lyriq and a range of approximately 300 miles per full charge. You can charge your vehicle at either a home station or through a network of charging stations across the country.

Toshihiro Mbe, Honda global CEO, stated that the company was open to an alliance if it allows it to reach its goals quickly. Mibe stated that electrification is not economically feasible at the moment. Honda can reduce the cost of its early transition by forming a technical alliance with another automaker.

According to a some report, the Japanese automaker will take advantage of the opportunity to switch to zero emission vehicles to review its existing product lines. This suggests that models that are not performing well during the transition period to cut costs.

The Prologue could be a small SUV with two rows of seating. MotorTrend has information that the 2024 Honda Prologue will be a small SUV with three rows of seating.

The Honda Prologue represents the Japanese automaker’s latest attempt to gain meaningful market share in the EV market. All over the world, governments are increasing their mandates to auto manufacturers to offer more electric cars and eventually phase out gasoline-powered vehicles. Brands like Chevrolet, Toyota, and Tesla are currently leading the charge in EV development (no pun intended).

Honda is willing to make a massive bet that the Prologue BEV will propel it back to the top market for electric cars. Honda intends to do that by ensuring enough Prologues in dealers once the vehicle is released in 2024.

2024 Honda Prologue Redesign

Honda will design the Prologue SUV’s exterior and interior. The Prologue SUV will be built entirely from GM’s core components.

Teasers of the Honda Prologue can be seen on Twitter (@Dear_March23) and suggest it will indeed come in a CRV-sized version. The design is curvier than the more aggressive Honda, e.NS1 and Honda Honda, e.NP1 small electric SUVs. It won’t feel as the fluid inside with a single-panel design, like the Kia EV6. Thanks to the GM-developed global EV platform, we expect it to be practical.

The Honda Prologue in the United States will be available in select states upon launch. Honda states that the Prologue will be initially general in California and ZEV states (including Texas and Florida). These regions will be the most lucrative because they have higher acceptance of electric vehicles and more stringent regulatory requirements. When the infrastructure for EVs and customer interest grows, it will increase the availability of EVs nationwide.

Honda aims to ship 70,000 Prologue units in its first year of sales. Honda has not yet clarified whether this number includes Canada deliveries. Regardless, sales seem to be significantly lower than the gasoline SUVs like CR-V or Pilot. For years, the company has sold more than 300,000+ CRVs and 100,000+ Pilots each year in the U.S.
